The San Remo Convention

The San Remo Agreement was an agreement concluded in the Italian city of San Remo on April 19, 1920, and was held by the Supreme Council of Allies. The agreement dealt with the terms of reconciliation with Turkey , in addition to the establishment of the Mandate arrangements in the Arab regions and the future of the Arab region. The agreement ended on April 25 of the same year, and resulted in the Treaty of Sèvres, the content of which was not known until the fifteenth of May 1920, and its decisions were unfair and unjust against the Arabs, and harsh conditions on Turkey.

Reason for the San Remo Convention

The San Remo Agreement was held because of the Syrian Conference held in Damascus in March 1920. The conference was attended by representatives of neighboring cities such as Jerusalem, Haifa, Jaffa, Hebron, Antioch , Idlib, Lattakia, Damascus, Aleppo, Hama, and some The conference served as a parliament for all of these regions, and some of the results were announced: the independence of Syria and its territories under Turkish rule, as well as Lebanon, Palestine and Jordan, and their full collection under the name of the Syrian Arab Kingdom. Faisal bin al-Hussein, who called for Arab unity in a form Or the unity of Syria and Iraq in particular, and after the Allies heard about this conference they felt threatened, and it was their reaction is to hold the San Remo agreement.

Decisions of the San Remo Convention

Several conclusions emerged after the San Remo Agreement, which was attended by the Prime Ministers of a number of countries, namely Britain, Italy and France, as well as representatives from Belgium , Japan and Greece. Some of the most important decisions were:
  • Abolish the Treaty of Sèvres of the Ottoman Empire, obliging it to abandon the Arab countries located in Asia and North Africa.
  • A peace treaty was signed with Turkey on August 10, 1920.
  • Independence of Armenia and Kurdistan .
  • Greek presence in the region of Eastern Thrace, and the west coast of Anatolia.
  • Greece colonized the Aegean islands, which in turn lead the Dardanelles.
  • Syria and Lebanon were placed under the French mandate.
  • Put Palestine and Iraq under the British Mandate.
  • Put the remaining independent states under compulsory authority until they reach political maturity.
  • The Anglo Oil Agreement, which provided for France to provide 25% of the Iraqi oil quotas, and the conditions provided for the re-inclusion of Mosul with the states under the British Mandate.
  • He refused to allow Germany to increase the size of its army, due to the tension between France and Germany over the provisions of the Treaty of Versailles.
  • Commitment to the Balfour Declaration, where a border was drawn between Syria and Iraq, with the city of Mosul being annexed to Iraq after it was part of Syria, according to the Sykes-Picot Agreement.
  • The British Mandate imposed on Palestine by the coalition countries; the reason was to facilitate the immigration of Jews to Palestine, in order to create a national homeland for them while guaranteeing their rights in other countries. The Zionist organization also established a Jewish agency to collect Jews and establish a homeland in Palestine. The British Mandate has a role in facilitating Jewish immigration and encouraging its settlement by enacting laws that allow Jews to acquire Palestinian nationality, with Hebrew as an official language along with Arabic and English.

Reactions to the San Remo Convention

The Arabs were engulfed by a revolution of anger once the decisions of the San Remo Agreement were issued. The most important reactions are:
  • Palestinians protest against the policy of separating Palestine from Syria.
  • There have been clashes between the British and Arab tribes over the Palestinian-Syrian border area, and there have been many casualties on both sides.
  • Holding political meetings between Palestinian Muslims and Christians in order to plan protests against the partition of Syria.
  • The outbreak of two revolutions in Syria, the uprising of Sultan Pasha al-Atrash in the area of Horan, and the revolt of Saleh al-Ali in the Jabal Alawites, and the reason for this is the refusal of the Syrian division, which was the reason for the unification of Syria, but without Lebanon, Palestine, and Jordan.
  • The outbreak of the Kemal Ataturk revolt, due to the Turkish rejection of the Treaty of Sèvres, which resulted in the defeat of the occupied armies, Kemal Ataturk called for a treaty of Lausanne, which Turkey ceded Arab cities under Ottoman rule.

Consequences of the San Remo Convention

Following the San Remo Agreement, several consequences and decisions emerged, the most important of which are:
  • France established the State of Greater Lebanon, consisting of Beirut, Tripoli, Sidon, Akkar, Bekaa, Baalbek, Hasbaya, and Mount Lebanon, and Amel, and then established many countries, including Aleppo, Alawites, and Druze.
  • France is tearing Syria and Lebanon apart.
  • High Commissioner Goro issued some decisions and entered Syria, after France tried to tear Syria apart, and his victory over the Arab army in the Battle of Maysaloun.
  • The outbreak of the Sultan Pasha revolt in the Jabal Alawites; the reason for this was that the Syrians rejected the divisions, which reunified Syria.
  • Draw borders for Syria, Jordan, Iraq and Palestine .
  • Herbert Samuel was appointed British High Representative in Palestine ; it was known that Samuel would be biased towards the Jews.

Every people has deep roots in history, as the ancient peoples were ancient tribes and clans that lived around each other, and had certain customs shared by them, and each civilization was trying to distinguish from the surrounding civilizations, and the most important ancient civilizations: civilization Babylonian and Sumerian ... One of the most famous ancient civilizations Pharaonic civilization, which historians wrote a lot.

Ancient Pharaonic civilization Pharaonic

civilization was characterized by great distinction from other civilizations, and its people were living a very wonderful life, as the life of Pharaonic life was characterized by great precision and great organization between parts of civilization and the Egyptian people.

Pharaohs lived in ancient Egypt, and their presence was concentrated on the banks of the Nile River, where they worked in agriculture and exploited the fertility of the area around the River Nile to grow and get agricultural crops that are enough to feed the Egyptians, and also trade in them to the countries near them, lived in Egypt a lot of The tribes, which were subjected to many cases of invasion, the last of which was the Pharaonic invasion, since the Pharaohs were the last to conquer Egypt and lived there.

The reasons for the success of Pharaonic

civilization One of the most important reasons for the success of Pharaonic civilization is the optimal exploitation of the surrounding nature, in addition to the speed of adaptation to the circumstances surrounding them, as the Pharaohs were able to exploit the places where the availability of minerals and oil, and water wells.

Achievements of the ancient Pharaohs

In spite of the economic deterioration in ancient Egypt, the Pharaohs were interested in many things, most important of which are literature and other sciences, since they established a system of writing. In order to fight, and to protect themselves from any occupation coming on them, in addition, they excelled in medicine and medication with herbs that were growing naturally alone.

One of the most remarkable areas of gold in history is the architecture and architecture of the Pharaohs. They built many tombs and built palaces, pyramids, and other monuments that still exist today. Large, each king built for himself a cemetery in order to be buried, and the cemetery was like a palace, in addition to that they liked the construction of temples whose walls are carved beautiful decorations.

One of the greatest buildings built by the ancient pharaohs, the pyramids, and located in the city of Giza, where visitors and tourists come from everywhere for recreation and get a period of calm and convalescence.

Building the pyramids

The pyramids were built to be cemeteries, as each king created a pyramid-shaped cemetery, three pyramids of three different sizes. Each pyramid bears the name of the king who built it, three kings, Khufu, Khafre, and Menkaure, and took over more than one engineer overseeing the construction of the pyramids.

The pyramids until they reached their final form, since they were in the form of a flat rather than a pyramid, and then managed to engineer Himono by making it into its final hierarchical form, the architect of King Khufu.

The age of the pyramids is likely to be around 25 centuries, and it took many years to build and used very primitive building materials, but we enable the Pharaohs to build it as the best monument in all parts of the world, and the greatness of the pyramids is high in height, and they are of immense size, and stones Its use is stacked very neatly, neatly and consistently, as it contains no spaces.

The largest pyramid is the pyramid of King Khufu, which he built to be a cemetery for him to be buried after his death, but the greatest view of the external pyramid is the magnificence of the corridors and stairs in the pyramids from the inside, as it is a high system of sophistication and creativity, it contains a lot of corridors in addition to containing On the precious possessions of King Khufu and his family, as well as beautiful statues that have been carved and placed inside the pyramid.

The pyramids suffered a lot of vandalism during their time in Egypt, where many of the property belonging to the kings that were in the pyramid was stolen from the inside, in addition to the top of the pyramid was a gold-plated platform, but this platform disappeared from above the pyramid.

Speculation by archaeologists

Scientists speculate that the pyramids are not built of stone as people think, as their definitive evidence is how all the stones are of the same size and in the same direction, to the extent that there are no spaces between them, that the pharaohs did not have any equipment in the past, and that the materials that Primitive uses, so scientists believe that the pyramids were built from clay, which the pyramids formed in the way they wanted, until it reached the final, dedicated, accurate form it has reached today.

This fact reached by the scholars is but a fact mentioned in the Koran before, as Pharaoh, after he overwhelmed and told people that they are their Lord, and lied to what Moses said, asked Haman to build a large edifice in order to see God and meet him. Allah the Almighty says in his holy book: (O Haman, lead me to clay, make me an edifice for me, and I will look to the God of Moses, and I will believe him.)

That is, Pharaoh at the time used clay, the same materials used by the Pharaohs to build the pyramids, and the pyramids remain the highest building in the whole world and throughout all ages, as it is one of the seven wonders of the world, and was mentioned and talked about in the Koran by Scholars talk about it, and in this conclusive evidence of the agreement of religion with science in many aspects and in many things, and this is contrary to many things that Orientalists tried to create among Muslims about the truth of Islam and the Islamic religion.

Finally, no one can deny the achievements of the Pharaohs precisely because they still exist until this moment to be a witness to this wonderful civilization, and the kings of the Pharaohs were one of the strongest kings of the earth and the most powerful of the rule of Egypt, and the effects left by the Pharaohs behind them The greatest monuments on earth are unparalleled. Many other peoples tried to imitate the construction of the pyramids and sphinxes, but they did not succeed and the mystery of the pyramids remained a trademark only in the name of the pharaohs.
