Rio Ferdinand Absent Replaced Dawson
Rio Ferdinand finally confirmed absent at the World Cup in 2010. This is clearly bad news for Fabio Capello and England. Central defender who is also captain of the 'Three Lions' before getting injured ligaments in his left knee in the team practice session in South Africa.
From here, conditions are already worrying because Ferdinand was caught out of the hospital even with crutches. The result of scanning conducted by the British
medical team finally confirm that Ferdinand could not really compete in South Africa. The reason, Manchester United's players need at least 4-6 weeks for recovery.
"This is definitely a bad news and all the players in the squad very, very disappointed and saddened
to Rio Ferdinand," Capello said on the FA website. "Injuries in practice it was an accident, but had
nothing to do with the field conditions," he continued.
Tottenham Hotspur defender Michael Dawson has been ascertained to be contacted to replace Ferdinand in the England squad. He will be heading to South Africa on Friday night local time.
